How it works

  1. Tell us who already hires you

Bring a rough list of your last 40 jobs: the community, the job value, and the language the customer was most comfortable in. That last column is the one most owners have never written down.

  2. Agree where and how to show up

We pick the communities, services and languages worth paying for, then put the monthly cost, the translator budget and the reporting in writing before any work begins.

  3. Speak to the person doing the thinking

You won't be passed to a call centre or an intake bot. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.

Services

Four services, chosen for how Richmond Hill households hire a trade

Richmond Hill rewards trades that are easy to trust. A homeowner in Bayview Hill or Oak Ridges usually has a cousin, a neighbour or a community group chat ready with a recommendation, and a website or ad has to hold up against that. RichmondHill.Marketing helps trades and home-service owners earn that trust online, in English and, where it pays, in the other languages their customers use at home.

What makes this market different

Richmond Hill is a city of roughly 202,000 people where many buyers compare contractors in two languages. That changes three things for a trades business.

  • Word of mouth travels inside communities. A good job in one family can bring three more from the same circle, and a bad one can close a door for years. Reviews and referrals matter more here than in a market of strangers.
  • The search box isn't always in English. Some customers search in English but read reviews in another language, or ask a relative to search for them. Your listing, your reviews and your phone manner all get judged.
  • Translation done badly is worse than none. A machine-translated ad with the wrong word for "furnace" or "permit" tells a careful buyer you cut corners. We recommend qualified translators, and in Ontario that often means someone certified through ATIO, the province's professional association for translators.

We don't claim to speak your customers' languages ourselves. Our job is the strategy, the English source copy, the targeting and the measurement, and making sure the translated version gets tested like any other ad.

A housing mix that favours certain trades

Most Richmond Hill homes are houses, not towers. In the 2021 Census, 56.7% of the city's 69,315 occupied private dwellings were single-detached, 15.2% were row houses and 18.7% were apartments in buildings of five or more storeys.

For an owner, that means:

  1. The decision-maker is usually the homeowner. Furnace swaps, basement finishing, roofing, landscaping and drain work are sold to families, not to property managers.
  2. Ticket sizes can justify careful marketing. A detached-home renovation or system replacement is worth enough that a few well-chosen leads a month can carry a plan.
  3. The towers along Yonge and Highway 7 are a separate game. Condo work near Richmond Hill Centre needs different messaging, which we cover on the areas page.

What we do for Richmond Hill trades

We keep the menu short and connected. Each service has its own page:

Not sure where to begin? The services overview explains how to choose, and our guides work through the numbers before you spend anything.

Proof, stated honestly

Our published case studies are results from our HVAC work, not from Richmond Hill and not from other trades. They show how the method performs when it's run with discipline. For example, GasBoilers.ca, a gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat, now covers 26+ BC communities, and its Google profile shows 5.0★ from 76+ reviews. For CombiBoiler.ca, the numbers were 300% ROI and more than 300 leads a month. The results page explains what carries over to a Richmond Hill trade and what doesn't.

Who we are

RichmondHill.Marketing belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian group with its head office in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, who has 17+ years of digital marketing experience and has built 150+ live HVAC websites. Our role stops at marketing and advice; we don't pick up tools, quote installs or send technicians. Read more about us, or look at pricing and the parent brand, Trades.Agency.

Three questions to ask yourself this week

You can learn a lot about your marketing without spending anything. Try these:

  1. Search your main service from a customer's street, not from your shop. Do it from Oak Ridges, from the Mill Pond area and from near Highway 7. Note where you appear in the map results each time.
  2. Count your reviews against last month's jobs. If you finished 50 jobs and received two reviews, the gap is your quickest win.
  3. Ask your office who struggled to explain a problem in English. If several names come up, and they share a language, that's the start of a multilingual plan.

What a first conversation covers

A first call is about your numbers, not our pitch. We'll ask about your average job value, how many calls you close, which communities you'd rather not drive to, and which languages your best customers speak. If marketing isn't the bottleneck, we'll say so. You can reach us on the contact page by call, text or email.

Frequently asked questions

What is RichmondHill.Marketing?

A Canadian marketing and business consulting service set up for Richmond Hill trades and home-service firms. Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it, and it sits within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, whose head office is in Vancouver, BC.

Do you do the plumbing, wiring or renovation work?

No. Our work is marketing and advice only, so no installs, repairs or service calls. We plan and run campaigns for your company and help you think through how to grow it.

Do you write ads in Chinese, Farsi or other languages yourselves?

We don't claim in-house language skills. We plan the campaign and write the English source copy, then recommend that a qualified professional translator, ideally one certified through Ontario's translator association, adapts and checks every word before it runs.

Are your case studies from Richmond Hill trades?

No. Our published case studies are results from our HVAC work across Canada, and we present them only as proof of the method. We don't claim them as Richmond Hill results or as results in other trades.

How much does it cost?

Month-to-month plans start at $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing, plus 13% HST. Ad spend and translation fees are paid separately. Eligible trades businesses can start with a free 30-minute consultation.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Nothing locks you in beyond the current month, and 30 days' notice is all it takes to stop. Your website, ad accounts and Google Business Profile stay in your name.
